For the „Dobri Hristov“ Children’s Choir at the Municipal Children’s Complex in Varna, the year 2025 was marked by a highly significant anniversary: the 150th anniversary of the birth of composer Dobri Hristov. Under the direction of Galina Stanisheva and featuring pianists Bilyana Eneva and Damyan Radev, all of the choir’s concerts, festivals, and tours were dedicated to this noble and significant mission.

„The past year was filled with hard work, dedication, and inspiration. Supported by their parents and loved ones, and driven by a love for the choral art, the children sang together—as one—of life, hope, friendship, and light,“ shared Stanisheva.
Key engagements for the choir in 2025 include: participation in the 28th „Dobri Voynikov“ International Children’s and Youth Choral Festival in Shumen; the traditional inclusion in the Bulgarian Choral Union’s national initiative „Bulgaria Sings“; the ceremonial opening of the May 24th festive procession, alongside the Representative Wind Orchestra of the „Dobri Hristov“ National School of Arts in Varna; the jubilee concert „Native Song Binds Us Forever,“ dedicated to the 150th anniversary of Dobri Hristov’s birth; and participation in the 21st EUROTREFF International Children’s and Youth Choral Festival in Wolfenbüttel, Germany (August 31 – September 10, 2025).

Just a day after returning from Germany, the Children’s Choir „Dobri Hristov“ was invited to perform a solo program at the official opening of the 43rd Prof. Georgi Dimitrov International Choral Competition, while conductor Galina Stanisheva served on the competition’s international jury.

In November, the choir participated in a gala concert dedicated to the anniversary of Dobri Hristov, performing alongside the „Simfonieta“ Orchestra. The year concluded with appearances at the 10th National Christmas and New Year Song Festival in Haskovo and a festive Christmas concert on Christmas Eve—once again joining the Representative Wind Orchestra of the „Dobri Hristov“ National School of Arts in Varna, conducted by Lyubomir Alexandrov.
„With dignity, responsibility, and love, these young performers uphold the honor of bearing the name of their patron—Dobri Hristov—for whom music was an inspiration, a life, and a spiritual light,“ added Galina Stanisheva.
