From April 20 to 23, 2023, the 27th edition of the International Children’s and Youth Choir Festival „Dobri Voynikov“ took place in Shumen, hosted by the Center for Personal Development – Children’s Complex „Anastas Stoyanov.“ Children’s Choir „Dobri Hristov“ participated in the second concert evening, presenting a rich and diverse program that included works by both Bulgarian and international composers. During the festival, a creative meeting was held on the topic: „Tradition and Continuity in Bulgarian Choral Art,“ along with the celebration of the 60th anniversary of Children’s Choir „Bodra Pesen“ from Shumen.
The Varna choir also took part in the final concert, where they performed Slavil Dimitrov’s „Mass for Peace,“ a work for unison choir and symphony orchestra, composed specifically for the choral festival.
Children’s Choir „Dobri Hristov“ was awarded a diploma and a plaque for their excellent performance and contribution to the promotion and development of Bulgarian children’s and youth choral art by the Mayor of Shumen, Mr. Lyubomir Hristov. They also received a diploma for their outstanding performance from the Bulgarian Choral Union and the Federation of European Choirs.
